چکیده

In this paper, we present the modelling of a domain of argumentation-based negotiation with scarce resources so that Hierarchical Task Network planning can be used for finding appropriate strategies for the negotiating agents. In our modelling, the agents justify their positions on interactions throughout the course of a negotiation episode, and such justifications are taken into account in future interactions. This approach allows the agents to plan the outcome of a negotiation and use this information in their favour. Our method, further, selects the best plan among those found by the HTN planner, based on the plan costs. This allows the agents to choose the best reachable plan in order to reach the desired outcome.

Adaptive Agents in Argumentation-Based Negotiation

The paper presents a multi-agent system that comprises a society of self-interested agents that use argumentation-based negotiation to reach agreements regarding cooperation and goal satisfaction. The system is a generalization of some argumentation-based multi-agent systems proposed in the literature in which better cooperation agreements are reached through the use of human-like arguments. We...

Argumentation-based Negotiation in t-DeLP-POP

In this contribution, we propose to model argumentation-based negotiation in terms of t-DeLP-POP, a partial order planning system that incorporates temporal defeasible logic. This logic combines temporal facts and durative rules into temporal arguments. We propose a dialogue protocol for the negotiation of plans in this planning system that models a variety of scenarios for argumentative negoti...

Advances in Argumentation-Based Negotiation

Argumentation-based negotiation (ABN) is a prevailing approach for automated negotiation. It is based on the exchange of arguments that allow an agent to acquire additional information about the other agents and the particular circumstances of the negotiation, and can be used for attacking or justifying offers. This is an important element in resolving conflicts that very often are due to the a...

A Comparative Study of Argumentation- and Proposal-Based Negotiation

Recently, argumentation-based negotiation has been proposed as an alternative to classical mechanism design. The main advantage of argumentation-based negotiation is that it allows agents to exchange complex justification positions rather than just simple proposals. Its proponents maintain that this property of argumentation protocols can lead to faster and beneficial agreements when used for c...

Extending Contract Net Protocol for Arguing Agents

Negotiation is a technique through which two agents having conflicting interests reach an agreement that is beneficial for both of them. Argumentation-based negotiation is a better form of negotiation where one negotiating agent argues with another to justify its position and influences the other agent to follow it. This increases the likelihood and quality of agreement in a negotiation process...
